Bridging product and compliance in audits

Product wants velocity. Compliance wants defensibility. Consumer protection audits fail when each side brings a different packet to the same meeting.

One shared screenshot set

Agree on a folder of dated screens before debate. If the argument starts from memory, pause and refresh the build. Our cohorts treat the screenshot pack as a first-class artifact, not a slide decoration.

Severity without blame adjectives

Replace “reckless” with impact categories: funds at risk, time-to-resolution, and repeat rate. Product can fund against numbers; they resist moral language that feels personal.

Owners in the room

Every finding needs a named owner before the meeting ends. “The platform team” is not a name. Oversight Circle firms keep a simple roster of who can accept remediation work in each surface area.

Revisit without reopening everything

Schedule a short re-test checkpoint. Do not rebuild the entire audit—confirm the fix on the original sample plus a thin fresh slice. That habit keeps trust between teams intact.
